procrastinate

I received a text from a friend with a photo of the most beautifully designed computer desktop. She created it in Canva and it impressively organized her notes for the book she's writing with sections for research, manuscript, characters and other. They were organized as icons on distinct note papers with crystals and sage and eucalyptus adorning the spaces between. She even had a typewriter icon indicating her manuscript document!

I was blown away. It made me feel so happy to see this inspiring creation.

The text also shared, “Perhaps this was a clever form of procrastination…"

We do that, don't we? Call something immensely joyful that doesn't tick any boxes off our to-do list “procrastination”.

I was the biggest procrastinator! I would bake when I needed to be studying, organize a drawer when I needed to be cleaning, watched tv when there was work to be completed.

I still do those things, but I no longer believe them to be procrastination. What I once called procrastination I now feel as following the call of inspiration. It's honouring the capacity I have to do certain things at certain times. When I follow the inspiration, everything that needs to get done, does. In its own time.

If we must continue to call it procrastination though, then I am going to encourage it!

Procrastinate something today.

Procrastinate with all your might.

… then share with me what comes of this procrastination time. It will light up my day.
