series 5 (june 2025)

“It’s not your job to like me, it’s mine.” ~ Byron Katie

This quote jumped out at me this month as if choosing itself. And then my mind got involved and started questioning it. “What if people think I’m speaking directly to them? (I’m not.) What if they don’t see this as community building and instead as separating? (Not my intention.) What if people don’t know Byron Katie’s work and take this personally? (Her work is so loving and great!)

The mind likes to do this, share all the things to worry about. My mind caught me this time though and I started to look at other words to start the creation of this month’s art piece. But there weren’t any. No other words shared themselves as exuberantly as these ones so I continued on.

I’m so glad I did.

As these words open me up I feel like I become more myself and in that I have more space for others to be themselves. It’s a beautiful thing.
